February 3 is National Women Physicians Day, celebrated annually to mark the birthday of the first female doctor in the United States, Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell.
With this in mind, meet the women physician leaders at RP who inspire us every day in their work, through clinical excellence, collaborative innovation and compassionate care. Dr. Kottler is RP’s Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) for Clinical Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a diagnostic radiologist for Matrix, a teleradiology practice that serves numerous hospitals and healthcare facilities across the nation. She leads the Data Science and Analytics division of RP’s Clinical Value Team and the Education and Development affinity group for RP’s Belonging committee. She also serves on RP’s IT senior leadership team, the Innovation Steering Committee and the AI, IT, Culture and Leadership support boards.
Dr. Kottler’s innovation has led to significant improvements in how technology can be used to enhance patient care. Her expertise in computer science and AI coupled with a background in applied mathematics helped her develop and operationalize systems that incorporate AI and machine learning into routine practice.
Dr. Everett is RP’s ACMO for Practice Analytics. She has practiced for approximately 40 years as a general, musculoskeletal and breast radiologist, and she is the Practice President and a managing partner for Coastal Radiology in New Bern, North Carolina. Dr. Everett has served on the executive committee of the medical staff at Carolina East Medical Center for 16 consecutive years, as both chair of the department of imaging and an at-large member, and she was Carolina East’s first female chief of staff. She is passionate about rural medicine and even authored an opinion piece on the topic in MedPage today.
Dr. Everett values mentorship and prioritizes service. She is on the board of the American Association of Women Radiologists (AAWR). Additionally, she has extensive involvement with the American College of Radiology (ACR), most recently being named to their Board of Chancellors.

Dr. Saravanan is RP’s ACMO for Recruitment and a breast imaging radiologist for ARA Diagnostic Imaging serving the Austin, Texas region. She is the chair of ARA’s Marketing committee, a member of ARA’s Executive Committee and Assistant Professor for the Department of Diagnostic Medicine at Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas in Austin.
Dr. Saravanan has served on boards within the American Medical Women’s Association and the Society of Breast Imaging, and she has participated in numerous academic publications and presentations related to radiology. In addition to her leadership roles and pursuit of clinical excellence, Dr. Saravanan is deeply committed to elevating future radiology leaders and giving back to her community. Locally, she has served on a number of boards to better the practice of radiology in Austin, and she has collaborated with physicians across other specialties to explore ways to better patients’ experiences.

Dr. Bonaminio is RP’s National Subspecialty Lead of Women’s Imaging and a breast imaging radiologist at Advanced Diagnostic Imaging. Additionally, she is the director of breast imaging for Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Bonaminio represents women in radiology in numerous roles. She is a board member for Tennessee Women in Medicine, and she is an active member of Society for Breast Imaging, Tennessee Radiological Society and American Association for Women Radiologists.
