Radiology Partners (RP) radiologists and leaders recently gathered at the annual Practice Leadership Summit, where RP recognized the 2024 Value Award winners. Meet the physicians and support teammates who embody RP’s practice values.

Dr. James Lyons: Service Award
As the associate chief medical officer of clinical operations, Dr. James Lyons serves RP practices in the western area of the United States. He also practices radiology as a member of the RP SEAL team.
Dr. Lyons was recognized for his commitment to service to all areas of the practice. He is always willing to serve as a resource – whether it’s a peer, referring physician, client partner or the broader practice, and his colleagues agree he is the epitome of a servant leader. Dr. Lyons is known as a kind, thoughtful and compassionate leader of integrity. He is effective in his efforts to bring collaboration and camaraderie to the table, even in difficult, complex circumstances, and he is always looked to as a trusted partner by his colleagues and peers.
Joe Schmugge: Service Award
Joe Schmugge, chief operating officer for Virtual Radiologic Teleradiology Services (vRad), was recognized for his ability to deliver exceptional service to radiologists, teammates and client partners. Joe’s teammates appreciate his ability to challenge the status quo and think outside of the box to examine new opportunities for even better service offerings.
Joe is known as a positive team player with a can-do attitude, and he is looked to as a key strategic contributor who offers exceptional value in his work. His colleagues credit Joe’s investment to innovate clinical operations that enables vRad to deliver exceptional patient care, enhances offerings to their client partners and encourages engagement among internal teammates. Additionally, his willingness to take on key leadership roles related to credentialing, licensing and privileging has provided a better experience and improved service for radiologists.

Catherine Silas: Teamwork Award
Catherine Silas serves as a vice president and assistant general counsel for the practice, and she plays a critical role in the work of many teams, including operations, revenue cycle management, payor contracting, internal market development, finance and risk.
Catherine was recognized for her collaborative spirit, as she shows an unwavering commitment to gaining consensus and integrating diverse perspectives to arrive at well-rounded conclusions, no matter the complexity. Her colleagues also commend Catherine for her outcome-oriented approach to her work, as she never loses sight of the objective and works to align the team’s efforts with practice goals. She delivers exceptional, team-first results and has been an important, selfless and humble part of many important RP successes.
