National Women Physicians Day is celebrated on February 3, with 2021 marking the 200th birthday of Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, the first female doctor in the United States. In our latest webinar “RP Presents: The Future is Now – Women Leading Healthcare” an expert panel discussed their own journeys as female leaders in healthcare and offered important insights as we all work to create cultures of diversity, inclusion and true belonging within our teams and organizations. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Cheri Canon, Professor and Chair of Radiology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, and featured three outstanding panelists: Dr. Anita Blanchard, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago Medicine and Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education; Dr. Barbara Hamilton, an interventional radiologist at RP and the author of Save Lives, Enjoy Your Own: Finding Your Place in Medicine; and Dr. Mary Mahoney, the Benjamin Felson Endowed Chair and Professor of Radiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and current President of RSNA.
