Radiology Partners and RAD-AID International Announce Global Health Partnership

(EL SEGUNDO, Calif.) March 10, 2020 – Radiology Partners (RP), a leading radiology practice in the U.S., today announced a new partnership with the radiology nonprofit organization, RAD-AID International, to bring radiology support to medically underserved communities in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). The partnership leverages RP’s network of more than 1,500 radiologists across 24 states with RAD-AID’s global network of more than 12,000 radiology volunteers helping 75 low-resource hospitals in 35 countries.

In this collaboration, RP staff and partners will serve on RAD-AID’s multidisciplinary international outreach teams, supporting efforts to improve healthcare for medically underserved communities around the world. RAD-AID and RP will carry out public service and philanthropic medical imaging projects, including on-site radiology education, image-guided procedure demonstrations, patient-safety protocol formulation, equipment planning, technology implementation, radiology administration, remote online educational development, and more.

“Our practice was founded with a mission to transform radiology, and service is one of the five core values of Radiology Partners,” said Rich Whitney, Radiology Partners’ Chairman and CEO. “Our partnership with RAD-AID aligns with these ideals and provides our radiologists and support staff an opportunity to serve and impact patients globally. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with RAD-AID and ultimately making an impact in the lives of many.”

“RAD-AID’s decade-plus track record of public service for resource-poor radiology facilities combined with RP’s clinical expertise and leadership experience bring together essential elements for empowering low and middle-income countries to enhance care for their populations,” said Dr. Dan Mollura, RAD-AID’s President and CEO. “This collaboration is a step forward for global health and will help indigent populations access high-quality and impactful radiology resources.”
