Radiology Partners Awarded Ambulatory Telehealth Accreditation from The Joint Commission

(EL SEGUNDO, Calif.) September 25, 2019 – Radiology Partners (RP), a leading radiology practice in the U.S., has earned The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval® for Ambulatory Telehealth Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

The Joint Commission’s Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation further advances RP’s mission to transform radiology by allowing the practice to streamline the credentialing process as telemedicine continues to expand throughout healthcare delivery. To earn the accreditation, RP underwent a rigorous, multi-day onsite review. During the visit, a surveyor of Joint Commission evaluated compliance with the telehealth-nonsurgical standards spanning several areas including emergency management, environment of care, human resources, leadership, safety, provision of care and rights and responsibilities of the individual.

“This Gold Seal of Approval® from the Joint Commission is further evidence of Radiology Partners’ commitment to providing top quality care,” said Dr. Nina Kottler, vice president of clinical operations. “Ambulatory telehealth plays an important role in radiology, and we are excited to continue to expand this program across the practice.”

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help healthcare organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

“As a private accreditor, The Joint Commission surveys healthcare organizations to protect the public by identifying deficiencies in care and working with those organizations to correct them as quickly and sustainably as possible,” says Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification Operations, and chief nursing executive for The Joint Commission. “We commend Radiology Partners for its continuous quality improvement efforts in patient safety and quality of care.”
